Here is a neat website that might make finding a playgroup a little bit easier: http://www.weplaygroup.com/ I didn't see any groups listed for this region -- perhaps we could try to start arranging some? Thanks, Elizabeth

Regina, I would suggest you start with which beaches you visited and liked last summer. Move out in a radius from there. Each of the three counties that surround (and incorporate Wilmington) -- Brunswick, Pender and New Hanover-- have several beac…

Thanks for your reply Elizabeth. I do remember talking with you about your daughter and would love to work with you to find a troop for her in the Fall. I appreciate your willingness to blog about the Girl Scouts. We have an event coming up on July 10 at Jungle Rapids Family Fun Park. It will be both a celebration for our existing girl scouts and a recruiting event for anyone interested in becoming a girl scout. It includes a full day in the park and a buffet lunch at a greatly discounted price. I would love to tell you more about it and would appreciate you encouraging your readers to attend with their daughters. Please contact me to learn more at 231-0750 or at scrumrine@nccoastalpines.org. Thanks again for your support!!

Hi Elizabeth. I love reading your Star News Blog. Would you consider blogging about the New Hanover County Girl Scouts? I am the Membership Specialist for Girl Scouts in New Hanover County and part of my job is to help spread awareness of the Girl Scout Program to area girls and parents/guardians. We currently have about 50 troops serving in excess of 450 girls and adults in New Hanover County but there is room for many more. I have been a Girl Scout Troop Leader myself for the past three years and have come to love the Girl Scout organization and all that it has to offer - and at such a small cost!! We are a terrific extracurricular option for anyone who is budget-minded but wants to open a world of opporunity and fun for a daughter. Please contact me for more information at 910-231-0750 or scrumrine@nccoastalpines.org. Thanks!!

P.S. Your blogs truly help me making up the newsletter for each meeting. :)
