Coastal Carolina Moms

A site for Moms in Wilmington and Coastal North Carolina

My family and I just relocated to Southport and I was wondering if there were any moms in the area that would like to get together.  I have 3 young children, 4, 3 and 1 years old.

Looking forward to meeting new couples and new Moms!

Welcome to the region, April! I know there's a MOMS group that meets in Southport or it used to anyway. You might want to check online about that.
Good luck!

Hi Amanda, thanks, I checked out the MOMs group and I guess it is no longer. This is the only other Moms website that I could find. Hope I can find some other Moms close to Southport!

If you are interested in driving to downtown Wilmington, there is a fabulous Mothers of Preschoolers group that meets at the First Baptist Church at 411 Market Street. There are other mothers from Leland that attend too.

MOPS meets the 1st, 3rd and 5th TH of each month from 9:30am until 12pm. Childcare is upstairs and moms meet downstairs. There is a fan page on facebook ,..... FBC Mothers of Preschoolers and also a group here on Coastal Carolina Moms. There are monthly play dates and mom's night out too!

Please feel free to check us out!

Let me know if you want more information.

Take care,
Tiffany

Thanks Tiffany...I am willing to drive to Wilmington to meet new moms and have playdates. Sounds like a lot of fun! I probably won't be able to make it to the meetings during the week but am still interested in outings and playdates. Could you send me more info?

Hello April,
I am also from out of the area-originally from Texas, and married to a Georgian for a little over 8 years. We moved to Southport when we brought home our now 4 year old son. He'd been born prematurely, and we needed to bring him to a larger town than where we were living in Georgia so that he'd be closer to the medical specialists he needed to be near for the first three years of his life, at least. We have relatives here, and so it was convenient to live here for at least a couple of years. It has turned into over four years now, and I still haven't met any other moms of kids my sons age or close, except for one relative that lives too far from us to play with them often.
So, we are in the same boat as you are, and my son really needs to have kids his age to play with more often. I miss having women to talk with about being a mom and more, too.

Hi Christie! So excited to finally find a mom in Southport! Where at in Southport?
What do you and your family do for fun in Southport besides going to the beach? My husband is really into fishing so he's been off looking for good fishing spots and I have yet to find my own thing to do. Was hoping to find a good yoga class to try. Let me know if you ever want to do playdates or meet up sometime. We aren't too familiar with the area so we've been out exploring a lot lately.
My 4 year old boy is in desperate need of another boy his age to play with. My daughter is 3 and they play together a lot but fight a lot too. He's starting to miss his cousins back in Cincinnati and I think he really needs a friend to make him feel better. Thanks for responding to my post! Hope to meet you soon!
